Web server requirements

The web server that will host the Meridian Explorer web application must meet the following requirements.

• Microsoft Windows Server 2008 x64 Edition or Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 Edition (recommended) with latest service pack and updates.

• Microsoft Internet Information Services 6.0 or higher with the following components installed and enabled:
  • If Internet Information Services 7.0 is installed, install the IIS 6.0 Metabase Compatibility Component from Server Roles. For more information, see Customizing IIS 7.0 Roles and Modules in Microsoft TechNet.
  • If Internet Information Services 6.0 is installed, IIS 5 Compatibility mode must not be enabled.
  • Basic Authentication or Windows Authentication. The Anonymous Authentication and Forms Authentication options are not supported and must be cleared.
  • ASP.NET 2.0
  • Static Content
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or higher

• Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1
• DCOM access to an Meridian Enterprise license server
• ODBC access to the database server
• Network access to the stream folder of the Meridian Enterprise vault (not required if vault content is imported into the Meridian Explorer repository).

The hardware specifications of the web server should carefully consider the anticipated user load. The following are minimum specifications:

• Windows Server 2008 x64 Edition (with latest service pack and updates)
• 8 GB RAM (or higher)
